Guards Polo Club News Back
Guards Polo Club and Searcys welcome Richard Corrigan to the Clubhouse for the 2024 season 21st March 2024

Guards Polo Club and Searcys Events are delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with award-winning chef Richard Corrigan. This Chef Patron of the Corrigan Collection will oversee the Clubhouse VIP hospitality menus during the summer season here at Guards Polo Club.

Richard’s philosophy is to always to keep it simple: “Let the food and the seasons do the talking without too much chef interference….” This ethos will be reflected in the Clubhouse hospitality menus for the Club’s key polo fixtures including the Cartier Queen’s Cup Final (Sunday 16 June), Out-Sourcing Inc. Royal Windsor Cup Final (Sunday 23 June), Talacrest Prince of Wales’s Championship Cup Final (Sunday 11 August) and the Guards Ladies Charity Polo Final (Saturday 31 August).

Richard has an array of critically-acclaimed London restaurants as part of his Corrigan Collection. These include Bentley’s Oyster Bar in Piccadilly and Corrigan’s Mayfair. In addition to these renowned venues, Richard also manages Virginia Park Lodge, a country house and estate in County Cavan, Ireland. Last year, Searcys and Richard Corrigan partnered to launch an acclaimed Portrait Restaurant on top of the newly opened National Portrait Gallery, a must-visit spot with unrivalled views over Trafalgar Square.

This Chef Patron was the winner of the coveted Great British Menu three times and also cooked for HM Queen Elizabeth ll and President Barrack Obama. He also makes regular appearances on radio and television.

Richard’s guiding principles align closely with those of Searcys. Iconic British heritage brand Searcys has been a staple of the London hospitality scene for over 175 years, and with an unwavering commitment to creating special moments for its guests. Searcys traces its roots back to the visionary John Searcy, who founded the company in 1847. A true creative and culinary force, John embarked on his illustrious career as the confectioner for the Duke of Northumberland before establishing the go-to events company in the capital. Over the years, the company had the privilege of catering to numerous extraordinary moments, from grand banquets and royal weddings to balls and coronations.

With such an impressive food pedigree we look forward to welcoming Richard and Searcys to Guards Polo Club this summer. Our Clubhouse hospitality packages for 2024 have just been launched for both Members and Non-Members, with menus featuring a distinctive Corrigan signature.
