Guards Polo Club created the 18-goal Lord Patrick Beresford Trophy three years ago in response to the increased demand for ladies polo tournaments. Such is the success of this tournament, named after our first Polo Manager and regularly presented by him, that it attracts world-class, all-female teams, playing off their ladies' handicap.
Finals Day, on Saturday 31 August, is also a major fundraising event at Smith's Lawn and Guards Polo Club is delighted to confirm that the tournament's official charity for 2019 is Smart Works Reading. This charity supports disadvantaged women getting into work, playing a vital role in re-connecting women to their self-confidence, belief and worth.
So the tournament finale will not only deliver some thrilling polo, but be a wonderful fundraising event, generating substantial funds for Smart Works and delivering some wonderful hospitality - and retail therapy - for both members and non-members.
To book for this significant fixture in the ladies international polo calendar please call our Events Team on 01784 434 212.
