This competition is open only to those Guards teams that do not make it through to the final stages of the Meyado Archie David Cup competition. It gives the "home" teams an opportunity to play some more strongly competitive and to add to their trophy collection.
The Claude Pert Cup is named after the late Major General Claude Pert who was Polo Manager at Guards Polo Club from 1957 - 1975. The trophy is traditionally presented by his neice, Miss Sheila Pert.
