The leading Ivy League universities, Harvard and Yale, provided a great and close game to close the action on Jack Wills Varsity Polo Day 2012. Yale (receing 0.5 on handicap), who had won this fixture for the first time last year, were keen to repeat that feat, but could not contain the dark blue shirts of Harvard. The Harvard team were three goals up at the end of the first and by scoring another before half-time, had a commanding 4 - 0.5 at the break. Yale rallied in the second half but they had found their form too late and had to concede defeat.
