El Remanso and Salkeld are both through to the Cartier Queen's Cup quarter-finals

El Remanso began their 2012 Cartier Queen’s Cup tournament with a win on the first day of the competition. They have continued this winning form throughout the league stages of the tournament and their 12-8 win over Sumaya at Coworth Park today confirms them at the head of League Three with three wins out of three. Sumaya were keen to win this game to register two league victories and keep their quarter-final hopes alive, but this defeat means that the second place in League Three now goes to Nick Clarke’s Salkeld.

The Hanburys have David Stirling to thank for today’s El Remanso victory. He scored eight of his team’s 12 goals, including four in the second chukka alone. El Remanso dominated the game – leading 8-2 at half-time and although Sumaya rallied in the sixth, to close the gap to 12-8, the writing was on the wall from early on.
