Guards Polo Club has been requested to cancel all polo at Smith’s Lawn due to the discovery of suspected Foot and Mouth Disease at a farm in Surrey. The stoppage will remain in place until advised otherwise by The Crown Estate and the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). The stoppage of play is effective immediately. DEFRA has currently set up an exclusion zone around the area in Surrey where the suspected cattle were grazing while they await for the laboratory tests.
